Pakistan Industry Chambers Want Ban on Export of Cotton
Tanvir A. Sheikh, President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry has strongly reacted on the news that Pakistan would export 50,000 short staple cotton bales in 2008-09. He said that country would earn only Rs 1 bn by export of 50,000 cotton bales, but we can earn more than Rs 6 bn by using this cotton to make intermediate textile product – yarn and grey fabrics. These earning can be increased more than Rs 20 bn by making finished textile products.
