Indian Apparel Exports to the US Registered Negative Export Growth in Jan-June'09
US apparel imports continued to expand only from Bangladesh and China out of the list of top 10 trading partners

Indian apparel exports to the US dipped 8.63 % at $ 1.59 bn during Jan-June’09, despite having shown a positive growth of 4.69 % in volume terms.

US Apparel Imports Fell 12.39 % in Jan-June'09
None of the product categories have shown any positive import growth

US apparel imports, which amounted to $ 32.99 bn in Jan-June’08, fell 12.39 % to $ 28.90 bn during Jan-June’09. In volume terms also, the imports were down 7.23 % from 10.49 bn m2 to 9.73 bn m2.
