Indian Apparel Exports to the US Dip 4.28 % in Jan-Feb'09, Bangladesh’s Gain Continues
High Growth Product Categories for India are 645, 333, 334, 350, 638, 352, 239 and 652

India posted negative export growth during Jan-Feb’09 when compared with its export performance of Jan-Feb’08.  Total Indian apparel exports to the US in this period amounted to $ 548.72 mn, a decrease of 8.21 % from $ 597.78 mn, while in volume terms, the imports increased 4.28 % from 158.03 mn m2 to 164.79 mn m2

China Tops the List of Leading Suppliers of almost all the Product Categories to the US in Jan-Feb'09
India Occupies 2nd Position in the list for 336, 341 & 342 and Bangladesh attains 2nd rank for 239, 340 & 349

The analysis of product-wise imports from Top-5 vis-à-vis India shows China having attained the top position in almost all the product categories, while it was the second largest supplier of 338 & 638, third largest supplier of 332 and 347.
